General Audition Tips for Our Community Theatre:

Arrive 10-15 minutes early to fill out paperwork.

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in.

Auditions are friendly and low-pressure! We're here to see what you can do, not to trick you.

All roles are open. We cast based on who best fits the role, not on prior affiliation.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Do I need to be a member or have experience to audition?

A: Not at all! Our auditions are open to the entire community, and we welcome all experience levels to participate in our upcoming auditions.

Q: Are there roles for children/teens?

A: For this production, we are specifically seeking female performers aged 17 and older.

Q: What is the rehearsal commitment?

A: Typically, rehearsals are Saturday from 1-6 PM. More rehearsals will be added just before show week as needed, and not all actors are required to attend every night. The specific schedules will be determined by the director.

Q: Is this a paid opportunity?

A: As a volunteer-based community theatre, all roles are non-paid. However, participating provides invaluable experience, a creative family, and the magic of live performance!

Q: I'm interested in backstage work (crew, sets, costumes). Should I audition?

A: Fantastic! Please skip the audition for that. Instead, visit our Volunteer Page or email our volunteer coordinator at info@dftproductions.ca. We always need helping hands!
